On May 1st the weather seemed quite favorable. We decided to do a proper May Day March with TPjr in Nuuksio National Park. There was a 50% chance of rain, so we wore our rain gear. Fortunately it never rained, but it wasn't too warm with below 10°C temps and a cool wind.
We took a Helsinki-Espoo train and a bus to Pirttimäki, our start near Lake Bodom.
We jogged and hiked about a 10km hilly forest North-West path to Haltia in Solvalla, the Finnish Nature Centre by Lake Pitkäjärvi. At Haltia they have a restaurant and another bus line back to Espoo. All in all, we covered about 15km that day. Here's a few pics from our fabulous journey.
